History of Kim's Martial Arts School
Today, Kim's Martial Arts School is considered one of the most successful Taekwondo schools in the country. Grand Master Myung Hwan Kim has produced many champions, national champions, a U.S. National Taekwondo Team Member, International Champion, and several distinguished leaders of our community.
In 1984, Grand Master Kim opened his second location in North Ridgeville, Oh. Grand Master Kim turned over the North Ridgeville School to his oldest son, Master Joseph E. Kim, in 1992 upon Master Joseph Kim's return from the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he was a member of the United States National Taekwondo Team. Master Joseph E. Kim grew the North Ridgeville Location to over 350 Martial Artist.
In 1995, Master Kim opened the third location in Avon Lake, Oh. After outgrowing the Avon Lake School, Master Joseph E. Kim moved the Avon Lake School to its current home in Avon.
Today, Kim's Martial Arts School has two branches in Avon and Fairview Park, OH. It is said that all Martial Artists in Cleveland, OH, have lineage back to Kim's Martial Arts School. We continue to grow with strong, disciplined students seeking to improve their lives through mental and physical training in Martial Arts.
